Series R100™ Coalescing Filter

Horizontal vessels with vertical orientated coalescing filter elements, multistage filtration utilizing gravitational settling and inertial impaction.

Filter elements incorporate particulate and coalescing sub micron filtration. Integral slug catcher with (2) sump holding chambers with ease in maintenance and service – Hundreds in successful service – Vertical filtration (not horizontal or vane packs).

A proven vertical coalescing system, new technology improving efficiency and maintenance down time while expanding element life. Quick opening closures – no tools required, no compressors or impact tools required.

Improved Efficiency, Reduced Maintenance Cost, Reduced Operating Costs

Series R100™ eficiency

after a few months in serviceR100™ replaced a competitive horizontal element unit that required seven 4” x 36” elements, with change out needed every two weeks. The new Sparks™ series R100™ filter with only three elements operated continuously for six months without needing any service saving the owner seventy-five hours of remote field maintenance and over $20,000 in replacement filter elements . Payback on investment in as little as 9 months

Vane Separators – Pockets and drain piping can easily plug with solids. Difficult to clean. Relatively expensive.

Mesh separators Very susceptible to plugging. Highly susceptible to corrosion. Expensive.

Centrifugal & Cyclone – Lower efficiency than vane separators. A trap device is needed for liquid collection. Limited liquid handling capacity.

Vane Separators look great when first fabricated – but not so great after a few months in service, 10-20 micron at best.

Multiple Horizontal Tubes lose efficiency and quite often by pass at the seals. Long tube type horizontal coalescing filters can “wet” out and lose up to one third useful area – Element installation and maintenance can be extremely tedious, time consuming and costly. Vertical filters drain towards the bottom – only 1-2” are wet.

Service 2 to 5 elements in less than (1) hour, OR up to 75 in many hours

Multiple Stage Pipeline Filter/Coalescer

Removes Liquid and Particulates

Built upon our huge success (over 300 in service) of R100™ filter vessels, now introducing the patent pending R101™ mini with patented possiseal™ threaded elements.Applications- R01mini

Horizontal vessels with vertical oriented coalescing filter elements, multi-stage filtration including gravitational settling, inertial impaction, particulate and coalescing sub micron filtration.

Integral slug catcher with (2) sump holding chambers. Ease in maintenance and service.

Hundreds in successful service. Vertical filtration (not horizontal or vane packs) proven best in coalescing. Quick opening closures – no tools (compressors or impact tools) required.

All aspects – design, welding, testing, filter manufacturing completed at Shawndra. – ASME VIII Div 1 and ASNT SNT TC1A Level I, II, III.

Patented Element Design Patent Pending vessel Design

Patent No. 7924160B2
Possiseal™ Threaded

Notes:

1.) Primary tortuous path – intercept and hold solid particles & small drops

2.) Secondary propagation – Coalescance – Impaction – collide and unite

3.) Course Growth – Reduction in flow velocity – increase & maximize size/mass of droplets

4.) Final Growth – Hydropholic foam holds droplets until large enough for Gravity to take effect & drop into sump.

5.) 10 PSI differential max.

Applications:

  • Any Air / Gas stream where moisture and/or particulate matter needs to be removed.
  • Can also be fitted with SulfuRid™ element to also remove small amounts of H²S (Due to vessel size – 10 ppm max.)

COALESCING FILTERS TO 1480 PSIG

SERIES R50- ENAMELED CARBON STEEL

Series R50 coalescing pipeline filtersSERIES R52- 304 STAINLESS

Series R50 coalescing-dimensionsRUGGED ENAMELED STEEL OR 304SS CONSTRUCTION

COALESCING FILTER MEDIA-R50sSeries R50 coalescing pipeline filters are fabricated from rugged enameled carbon steel, (R52 are 304SS), designed, constructed, and stamped in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code requirements for unfired pressure vessels. Any model can be modified to more exactly fit your needs.

CONNECTION SIZES FROM 1″ TO 12″

Raised face flanges (RF) in-line connections are std. Alternative orientations and sizes are available upon request. A simple blind flange closure assembly is standard on all models.

COALESCING FILTER MEDIA

Sparks™ #907 media is composed of microfine borosilicate glass fibers bonded with phenolic resin. Together with a textile prefilter and a final drain layer, these pleated elements are remarkably effective at coalescing fine entrained oil and aqueous vapor mist from air/gas flows with very low ΔP. Experience has demonstrated high removal (over 90%) in dealing with 1.0 to 0.3µ aerosols. Other optional filter media such as #926 exceeds 95% removals. Individual performance will vary with the specific viscosity and vapor pressure of liquid contaminates.

  • Intake Air Flows to 200,000 SCFM Std.
  • ASME U Stamp Std., Nat’l. Board Registered
  • Low ΔP, High Flow
  • Pleated Element Design – Exceptional Useful Filter Area
  • Hinged Flange and Lift Lug Std., Service Access W/O Breaking Connections
  • 304SS Throat Safety Cages, ΔP Taps Std.

OPTIONS

Carbon steel support legs in any length, (18” CS leg supports are std. on all R50 and R52 models), gauges, special finishes, and head lift assemblies are optional on any model. Call for information on vessels having other pressure services, 304SS, or other materials of construction.

SERIES P52- 304 STAINLESS

RUGGED ENAMELED STEEL OR 304SS CONSTRUCTION

These air and gas pipe line filters offer exceptional protection for compressed gas pipelines, air dryers, pneumatic controls, and other pipeline equipment. They are fabricated from rugged enameled carbon steel (series P50) or 304SS (series P52), designed, constructed, and stamped, in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code requirements for unfired pressure vessels. Any model can be readily modified at your request to more exactly fit your needs.

CONNECTION SIZES FROM 1″ TO 12″

Raised face flanges (RF) in-line connections are std. Alternative orientations and sizes are available upon request. A simple blind flange closure assembly is standard on all models.

RECOVERABLE SEWN OR RUBBER END FILTER ELEMENTS.

Classic radial fin textile media elements are unsurpassed for low ΔP, dirt holding capacity and efficiency. They stop particulates before they can move downstream. Select either recoverable 10µ Sewn End Filter Elements or 10µ long life low cost urethane rubber molded end elements, as your needs dictate to remove 98% of all airborne dust and dirt. Unlike PVC, our urethane rubber ends have no phthalate elastomers or other plastisizers. Dozens of alternative filter media are available for services having finer micron retentions, elevated temperatures and/or aggressive chemistry.
